Prophecies of Christ

Verses:

Psalm 69:26-28: “For they have persecuted Him Whom Thou Thyself hast smitten, and they tell of the pain of those whom Thou has wounded.  Do Thou add iniquity to their iniquity, and may they not come into Thy righteousness.  May they be blotted out of the Book of Life, and may they not be recorded with the righteous.

Justification by faith

Verses:

Romans 1:16-17:    “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also the Greek.  For in it the righteousness of God is revealed, from faith to faith; as it is written: ‘But the righteous man shall live by faith.’

Security of Salvation.

Verses:

Romans 8:38-39:    “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus.”

The Weakness of the Old Covenant

Verses:

Numbers 15:29-30    “You shall have one law for him who does anything unintentionally, for him who is native among the sons of Israel and for the alien who soujourns among them.  But the person who does anything defiantly, whether he is native or an alien, that one is blapsheming the LORD; and that person shall be cut off from among his people.”

Spiritual knowledge and proclamation

Verses:

1 Corinthians 2:12-13:    “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit Who is from God, that we might know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.”

Personal sanctification

Verses:

1 Corinthians 10:13    “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, Who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.”

Verses:

Galatians 2:19-20:    “For through the Law I died to the Law, that I might live to God.  I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.”

Outward obedience

Verses:

Deuteronomy 10:12-13:    “And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God require from you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the LORD’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?”

Verses:

Philippians 2:12-13:    “So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God Who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”

The Sovereignty of God in prayer

Verses:

Colossians 04:2-4:    “Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God may open up to us a door for the Word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; in order that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak.”
