The Great Commission
“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying: ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age’”
Matthew 28:18-20
Dear brothers and sisters of Grace Church of Sacramento:
The Neighborhood Outreach Program is committed not only to evangelizing the neighborhood around the church but also the greater Sacramento area. Paul wrote: “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were entreating through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him”. 2 Corinthians 05:20-21

Isaiah wrote: “All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him.” Isaiah 53:06

I have been attending the 1 Thessalonians Bible Study at John and Jean's home. Paul founded the church at Thessalonica during his 2nd missionary journey (Acts 17:2). Paul rejoiced in God's sovereign work there. However, he had taught for just three weeks when persecution caused him to leave. Paul’s sudden departure left Thessalonica’s newborn Christians with little encouragement or external support in the face of violent Jewish opposition. Paul wrote 1 Thessalonians to encourage them.

There is no greater joy in my life then knowing what the Lord has done for us. I encourage you to join this outreach and spread this joy. Through diligence and prayer, God may use us greatly to impact the neighborhood. We will attempt to cover the immediate area by using a map grid to distribute our church flyers. For further information, contact me at my home number (916)419-2856 or by email outreach@gracesacramento.org. I will help you by providing a map assignment and flyers.

If you face any serious resistance, remember: "Therefore, I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong. “ 2 Corinthians 12:10

As fishers of men, knowing that God's love and drawing is sovereign to those He has chosen, let’s serve the people of Sacramento. Let’s have another Thessalonica right here!

With God’s Blessing and love,
Your brother in Christ,
Jay
