A solid church cannot exist without biblical preaching. A healthy church must also have biblical worship, a vibrant Body life of personal and group discipleship in a variety of forms and structures, and evangelism. However, a solid church begins with biblical preaching. Biblical preaching means that the people consistently and accurately hear the very words of God. The Bible expresses God’s mind, affections, motivations and priorities. Biblical preaching continually exposes, confronts and exhorts the people to conform their thoughts, evaluations and priorities to God’s. Hearing God’s Word is the main activity of every worship gathering. Hearing God’s Word in the main worship service means that the entire congregation begins to grow together as One Body.
Local elders do the preaching. Although individuals may benefit from sermons from other churches and teachers, God has ordained a consistent central message from a specific passage of Scripture from a live pastor of His choice and qualification in personal relationship with the local people in a unique time and context as the primary instrument of congregational growth.
Biblical preaching covers the entire Bible, Old Testament and New Testament, in all the genres of history, prophecy and poetry.
